Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival in Paro | Transfer to Thimphu | Leisure Day
Welcome to Bhutan! Upon your arrival at Paro International Airport, get driven to your hotel in Thimpu. Check in and spend your day at leisure. You can visit the Royal Botanical Garden, showcasing a diverse range of native flora amidst serene surroundings. You can also explore Ludrong Memorial Garden, established to honour the memory of Ludrong Dorji, a revered figure known for his contributions to Bhutanese culture. Later, return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2
Thimphu Sightseeing Tour
Today, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Thimphu. Begin with a visit to the National Memorial Chorten, a tribute to Bhutan’s 3rd king, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. Next, marvel at the 177-ft tall Buddha Dordenma Statue at Kuenselphodrang. Explore the Motithang Takin Preserve to see Bhutan's unique national animal, and then visit the impressive Tashichho Dzong. Get insight into the rich cultural heritage at Simtokha Dzong and the Handicrafts Market. Later, get transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 3
Transfer to Punakha via Dochula Pass | Stay & Sightseeing
After checking out of your hotel, get transferred to Punakha. En route, make a stop at Dochula Pass, and admire panoramic views of the majestic Himalayas. Upon arrival in Punakha, visit Chimi Lhakhang, a famous temple, also known as "temple of fertility". Next, explore Punakha Dzong, an architectural marvel situated at the confluence of two rivers, Pho Chu and Mo Chu. Finally, get driven to your hotel in Punakha, check in and enjoy your overnight stay.
Day 4
Transfer to Paro | Stay & Sightseeing
In the morning, check out of your hotel get driven to Paro. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and get ready for a sightseeing tour of Paro. Explore Drukgyel Dzong, a historic fortress built to celebrate Bhutan's triumph over Tibetan invaders. Next, visit the ancient Buddhist temple, Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan's oldest temples with profound cultural significance. After the tour, board your transfer back to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 5
Day Trip to Tiger’s Nest
Today, explore Ta Dzong, the National Museum, which houses a remarkable collection of Bhutanese art, textiles, weapons, and religious artifacts. Then, prepare yourself for an adventurous trek to Taktsang Monastery, famously known as Tiger's Nest. Get driven to Satsam Chencho Tshongkhang and enjoy a trek through pine forests and past prayer flags. Alternatively, you can choose to take a horse ride to the monastery (extra cost). Afterward, get transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 6
Departure Day
It is time to say goodbye to Bhutan. After checking out of the hotel, you will be transferred to Paro International Airport for your departure. This is where your trip will come to an end. Safe travels!

Know Before You Go

- Cancellation After Rescheduling: Clients who reschedule their tours or treks but later decide to cancel will be subject to our standard cancellation policy. Any rescheduling fees paid will be non-refundable.
- Images are for representation purpose only.
- ID Proof is mandatory for each individual guest at the time of booking, and upon arrival. PAN Card will not be considered as a valid identity proof. All foreign nationals must carry their passport as a proof of identity.
- Indians must pay the Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) of Rs 1200 per person/per night. Children below 5 years are exempted from SDF, while kids between 6 and 12 years of age, will get 50% concession.
- To obtain entry in Bhutan, Indian tourists must carry their passports with a minimum 6 months validity and make the payment of SDF.
- Plastic has been banned since 1999 in Bhutan, therefore, it is advised to carry plastic/plastic items.
- Keep your arms and legs covered while visiting a Dzong (fortress-monastery).
- Ask for permission from the attending authority before taking any photos or videos inside places like monasteries.
- In Bhutan, Tuesday is ‘Dry Day’. This means locals don’t drink alcohol on Tuesday. So it would be respectful to avoid alcohol on Tuesdays too.
- It’s illegal for tobacco to be sold in Bhutan. Tourists can bring cigarettes into the country, but can only smoke them in designated places.
- Bhutan does not have a micro (or nano) SIM card. So check your mobile device for SIM compatibility before visiting Bhutan.
- Ask your local guide to help you purchase a SIM on arrival, as Bhutan supports 2 networks: B-Mobile SIM and TashiCell.
- Credit cards are widely accepted in major cities and tourist areas. However, it is recommended to carry some cash.
- The official currency in Bhutan is the Bhutanese Ngultrum (BTN). It is advisable to exchange currency at banks or authorised exchange bureaus.
- In cases of force majeure events (e.g., natural disasters, political unrest, or other unforeseeable circumstances), [Thrillophilia] reserves the right to reschedule tours & treks or offer alternative itineraries to ensure the safety and well-being of clients and staff.
- Please note that prices are dynamic and may change in the peak season and on blackout dates.
- Any breakage or damage of any items in the stay property will be charged at actuals.
- Please note that the timings and duration of pick-up and drop-off transfers may vary based on certain factors like traffic, weather conditions, natural calamities, etc.
- Prices may fluctuate with any change in services/hotels. The difference in the cost shall be borne by the client in case of any amendment in the package due to an increase in the number of guests.
- If in case any traveller wants to or decides to leave the trip in the middle, all the expenses from the point onwards will be borne by the traveller. Neither the operator nor Thrillophilia will be held responsible for such decisions or for any refund.
- It is recommended that you purchase travel insurance. Please note that the travel insurance is not included in the package price.
- Rescheduling Policy for Private (Standard & Deluxe Package) & Group Bookings: 1) If rescheduling is made 7 days after the booking date till 15 days prior to the date of travel then 30.0% of the total tour cost will be charged as rescheduling fees. | 2) If rescheduling is made 0 days to 15 days before the date of travel then 100.0% of the total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees. | 3) If bookings are made 15 days before the date of travel no rescheduling & modifications will be made.
- Rescheduling Policy for Private (Super Deluxe) & Hotel Specific Bookings: No modification or rescheduling will be catered. A standard cancellation policy will be applicable for such cases.
- Please note that on Saturdays and Sundays, the Phuentsholing Bhutan permit office remains closed.
- Please note, the provided vehicle is for point-to-point services only. Any extra usage beyond the itinerary will incur additional charges, payable in cash on the spot.
